Hi! In general you are right about not giving out your SSN number but not in this case. An affiliate is considered an independent contractor. If they are paid over a certain dollar amount, the the person running the affiliate program needs to send them a 1099 form. They need a SSN or EIN to do that. Again - this is only for those running there own affiliate programs - not for those running through ClickBank.
