Hi Mike,
Thanks ... for the link ...
I notice you have listed http://www.ryze.com/ - a business networking community.
Another business networking community people may wish to consider and you may wish to add is:
http://www.alwayson-network.com
(Somewhat of a recent competitor to ryze.com. One neat feature - you can post a blog entry which is immediately picked up on Google in a wide range of areas. Handle it right and you can get some good coverage and specific traffic. Focused on the b 2 b market place with a large US and international audience of movers and shakers. Do not spam - you will get taken out and shot.)
Another set of boards for people to consider outside of the IM arena is the AARP - American Association of Retired Persons site.
The site runs some very interesting boards.
(I got a big boost of traffic from one of these boards when I posted properly in response to one discussion on the Can Spam Act. No spamming - no advertising - just basic information. Spam or scam this board and people will turn on you big time. I have watched it happen.)
Speaking of spamming the boards - don't do it.
Don't post articles of the drive thru variety.
Don't post blatant advertisements. Be helpful.
Provide useful information. Have fun. Be courteous and people will be courteous to you.
Disagree, do it with style.
Ask questions. Get help. Thank people for their help.
Monitor the discussion to figure out what is going on before leaping in.
Kind regards,
John Glube
