Tom,
Thanks from everyone who reads my forum for posting such detailed information. It's a great pleasure to work with an autoresponder who really take time to deliver our mail and that's why I switched to using your services recently.
As a bit of third party feedback I should mention to the forum that aWeber doesn't simply allow you to go ahead and import your records, which makes switching over from another autoresponder relatively hard work.
There are a couple restrictions:
1. You can't import more than 2k records per day.
2. The standard is that double-opt in is switched on for all the records that you import, meaning that these people could have been happily on your mailing list for years and are then going to be asked whether they wish to be on your mailing list.
Initially I have to confess that I was getting frustrated with the process of moving my contacts over from ProAutoResponder and I'm actually not there yet.
But, after a couple of conversations with support at aWeber (mostly good natured ;) we got things sorted and the actual aWeber service has been terrific.
I can't recommend it highly enough. Tom really takes the time to make this the best autoresponder and what you are paying for is pure quality.
One thing which slows me up (Tom tells me it's in the upgrade list) is that if you happen to maintain several different lists (perhaps a series of mini-courses), but you then want to fire an email across several of your lists (as I do each week with TOP POSTS from this forum), then you currently have to access each list and send a BLAST individually.
Not only is this approach extremely time-consuming, but it also leads to duplicates arriving, if folks have signed up to more than one mini-course.
For the purposes of comparison, ProAutoResponder could handle a single send out across multiple lists, but still sent the same email in duplicate, triplicate or how ever many times people are signed up with you on different lists.
I'm personally really looking forward to this aWeber upgrade and as far as I'm concerned I hope to stay with aWeber for life -- because it's such a pain moving around!
Nice work Tom - more power to aWeber's arm!
