There is a new autoresponder hitting the scene. It is Network Responder created by Mark Saville. I am beta testing the new version for him right now and it is fantastic. This is a client side autoresponder. That means it is installed on your computer and runs on your desk top.
If your tired of cleaning all the bounces and that is what it sounds like your having problems with the server side autoresponders you are using now. Network Responder handles all bounces either deleting the subscriber from the list or marking it as undeliverable. The choice is yours.
One of the things you have to watch out for when you have a large list when using your own autoresponder software is slowing the host server down to the point the host theatens to shut you down. I am not talking about spam but sending so many emails that it slows the host server down to much.
I am still testing this software, but it seems that you can use as many domains that you have to send your emails from. It will send so many from one domain then send some more from another and so on. This way it does not slow the servers down and it processes the bounces in between. You will no longer have to clean your list. No need for a dedicated server when you have a large list.
It also allows you to add as many fields as you need when collecting information through a form. It is great for collecting information through a survery. You can collect hidden information that the subscriber does not know you are getting. Such as: IP address, Date and Time, Language, Browser, Referer, and Host.
The database is written in Mocrosoft Acces and is easily manipulated if you are experienced with Acces. If not it is recomended to manipulate the files through the Network Responder program. Everything is on your own computer. Talk about total control!
There may be one small negative to a client side autoresponder. If you are on a dial up, I do not know how well it will stay connected to your ISP. I have a cable modem and I have no problem at all. Oh, by the way, you have to leave you computer on 24 - 7 to make sure you respond to all your messages in a timely manner.
So far this autoresponder seems to be more powerful, adaptable, and easy to use in any situation you may need an autoresponder.
There are many more advantages and if you would like more information, just send an email to me. I hope this little review is helpful.
Wishing you much online success,
Steve Yakim
