..if I am a little ahead of the times for one of my projects.
Voice and video IP have been available for so long yet so few people have the hardware necessary.
My favorite headset mic is the Telex H-341. I find it to be confortable and the sound quality from voice input is great at approx $30 it is affordable to most any internet user.
One of the applications I am developing a system that I am hoping in time will become widely used by the avarage webmaster/internet user. In the mean time it is my hope that it will be a benifit to internet business owners and their collegues for communication.
John Delavera recently in his newseltter discussed the future of multimedia in his newsletter. Much of what he mentioned is already available yet it seems so few are using this technology even as simple as a microphone.
I wonder if I can help begin to change that or if I will be left barking at the moon?
I find it funny that the Jim Edwards Multimedia Package and the recent Joe Clayton DPCon package both contained microphones. It seems to me that people who are involved in digital product creation or interested in launching multimedia marketing campains on line would already be equipped with a good microphone headset that can easily be purchased at WalMart for $30.
I guess maybe I will have to provide links to purchase a good microphone headset when selling my service.
So many people are into the whole Instant messenger communication. Granted in many situations that instant communication can save you time and money.
Personally I think it is a big waste of time! I like to call my business partners put on my telephone head set and have my hands free to type as I update webpages, do research, send links, files, etc to my business partner as we brainstorm ideas. Granted sometimes I find my self speaking with one business partner on the phone while holding a conversation with another (addicted to instant messaging) on MSN.
I also experienced something interesting during the first session of Lee Benson and Frank Garon's Hypnotic Blueprint. Although many of us were equipped with microphones we were not able to communicate with them very well. We could here the presentations just fine from the HB webinar interface but the real action happened in the built in chat interface that was operating in tandem with the Voice cast.
The students were discussing the lessons sharing links resources and even putting together JVs and their own forums all during the lesson. In fact the chat was so happening that Frank Garon Jumped in with us while Lee Benson was talking (sorry Lee).
I loved it but I guess the days of two way microphone mastermind group communication have not yet fully developed. I know with the recent (crummy interface) webinar rooms that Madison Dynamics released that tech became more affordable but I must admit they could have done a better job with the interface.
I must go back to the designing of what I hope will be a step in the right direction in the world of Video and Voice IP communication integration.
