Here's what I think makes an interesting JV

All,
Just reviewing the basics of what makes an interesting JV from a publisher or list owner's point of view. Thought anyone who is looking to form JV partnerships might find these notes interesting:
As a publisher with a BIG list I look for:
1. An exclusive JV. Either because it's not been offered to too many others yet or because I'm the ONLY marketer involved.
2. No affiliate links. Nothing worse than promoting someone else's product, only to find a 'become an affiliate' link on the page you're promoting.
3. Anything but ClickBank. Don't get me wrong, I love ClickBank but I don't want to promote JV programs that sell via the service, because most marketers know how to sidestep it.
4. Something extra or a discount. I'm looking to cut my subs a deal and so I want a promo that undercuts the retail price or offers extra bonuses readers can't get elsewhere.
5. Exclusive landing page. I like to direct my readers to a page which welcomes them as Michael Green subs. This adds to the credibility of the offering.
6. A testimonial from me. Again, I wouldn't be recommending the product unless I've used it and liked it (I give relatively few testimonials), but if I'm promoting YOUR product then I would expect my testimonial to be included on your sales page in order to re-assure my leads.
7. A trustworthy partner. Think the whole world is dishonest? Think again. There are marketers out there that I've never met in my life, but have probably spoken to on the phone and I'd happily trust them to admin the entire affiliate program payout, without any software actually monitoring sales. I'm talking about people like Dr Mani, Dave Brown and Carlos Martinho, all of whom I've JV'd with and left it to them to pay me exactly what I am due, without any software cross-checking the sales for me.
There are probably a few other things which go to make a great JV relationship, but these are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
Think you've got a product that I'd like to help promote for you and which could fit the above criteria. I'm always on the lookout, so contact me with very brief details (no long letters please) and I'll check it out. michael@howtocorp.com
