Hi Ron,
If you would like to set up your own autoresponders on your computer check out Postmaster Express. You can get a fully functional free demo that will allow you to send out messages to your list up to 10 times before you have to register and pull out that plastic.
Check out the free videos anyway and they will teach you the complete process of setting up and running an autoresponder. While these videos are about Postmaster Express, many similiar techniques can be applied to other autoresponder services. Go here for free no obligation videos
