One thing that I think everyone agrees on (even the authors of those articles) is that the people who are in these programs first (at the top or at the start of the matrix) really do get paid

I think this YMMSS program REALLY DOES work..... FOR NOW. It will eventually blow up, but a few people, such as your friend will have made some nice money. I certainly wouldnt quit my day job though.
