I read the sales page for Spam Terminator for about 30 seconds.... just skimmed around looking mostly at how you're supposed to make money with it. I already have SPAM blocking software that actually works quite well. It's called Spam Inspector and you can get it at http://www.giantcompany.com
Anyway, I read this:
"But the best part is, Spam Terminator™ will AUTOMATICALLY market itself on your behalf! Any time it receives an email from someone not on your "acceptable source" list, it fires off a quick message to verify that the email address from which the message originated is an actual email address (if it isn't, the "bounce-back" will let the software know that it was a phony address - one of the many spam-blocking features of the software!). And in this message, Spam Terminator™ will offer the recipient the opportunity to protect THEIR in-box from spam also... and YOU will get the credit and commissions when they do!"OK, so let me get this straight... this SPAM prevention software actually sends SPAM of it's own? Perhaps I'm misunderstanding. Or is it OK to send SPAM if you're trying to stop SPAM?
Furthermore, one of the main problems with SPAM is not just its inconvenience. It also uses up alot of resources of ISP's and web servers. So, I don't see how "pinging" every sender is going to help matters in this regard.
However, once again, I, like many of you, have received about 20 emails from people promoting this product. And it's funny how a product that is just released can have so many testimonials already. It sure must be a God-send.
I don't know about anyone else, but I've gotten to the point where I just ignore the testimonials. I consider testimonials from well known gurus actually less relevant than the ones I read from people I've never heard of. Don't tell me what some guru says about your product just so he can spread his name and URL a little more. Tell me what the AVERAGE customer thinks.... the one who sends their praise without you asking and who does not do so in hopes of getting their URL on your website. THOSE are the ones you can count on as being truly genuine (assuming the person writing the sales page didn't just make it up).
(I'm not talking to anyone in particular here... just ranting! :o)
