There are a number of reasons. With corporate products, it's usually to put a human face to the product.

With info-products, it's usually to hide it better from the competition, or to make it more "in touch" for the prospect.

Who do you think plans most baby showers, men or women?

Who do you think they'll give more credibility to as far as the subject? A man or a woman?

Objectively, there's no reason one should be seen as more credible than the other, but it's still a reality.

As long as the use of the pseudonym doesn't contribute to a material deception, there's nothing wrong with it at all. Ethically OR legally.

It only matters if the buyer has a problem and the seller refuses to fix it. In that case, it's usually trivial to find the seller. If you even need to...
