With info-products, it's usually to hide it better from the competition, or to make it more "in touch" for the prospect.
Who do you think plans most baby showers, men or women?
Who do you think they'll give more credibility to as far as the subject? A man or a woman?
Objectively, there's no reason one should be seen as more credible than the other, but it's still a reality.
As long as the use of the pseudonym doesn't contribute to a material deception, there's nothing wrong with it at all. Ethically OR legally.
