Traffic Secrets - unbiased review
By Markus Allen, Publisher
$10,000 Marketing Tip of the DayAuthor John Reese of Traffic Secrets wants you to think "you're just $997 away from internet riches." And it's hard not to be sucked into the buzz he's created recruiting superaffiliates with large email lists to hype his Traffic Secrets launch.
But when you peel away the layers of this onion, you're left with one big teary-eyed stink of a mess. Traffic Secrets was a huge dissapointment for me.
Since I've published this daily marketing alert (back in 1997), it's rare that I give a bad review. But the buzz about Reese is impossible to ignore, and I'm compelled to offer my thoughts before you take out a second mortgage to order Traffic Secrets.
Is Traffic Secrets right for you?
Traffic Secrets will impress some, but I'll bet most will be stunned by its fluff.
Surprisingly, Traffic Secrets seems to cater to anyone interested in internet marketing... that includes internet marketing newbies all the way up to the seasoned pros. That's almost impossible to pull off.
For example, most of the course is a recorded video of Reese's 3-day conference... I was able to follow the way the audience shouted out nifty ideas... but I'd bet most non-geeks would be lost and confused.
At the same time, I was totally bored (and frustrated) as Reese demonstrated how to create a Google AdWords account for the first time... yet I didn't want to skip ahead for the fear I'd miss a breakthrough strategy.
Traffic Secrets alternative at a fraction of the cost
At any given time, there's approximately 10,000 truly passionate marketing junkies living on this planet... willing to buy just about anything (at any price). After all, if they can take away just one tip, idea, or strategy that more than pays the cost of the investment, it's worth it. If you're one of those 10,000 marketing junkies, you might consider ordering Traffic Secrets. I'm sure you'll pickup something that will payback the cost of the program.
But the vast majority of those thinking about ordering Traffic Secrets would get more than 100 times more value-to-investment ordering (at a fraction of the investment) :
SureFire Marketing (internet marketing)
Yanik Silver is probably best known for his Instant Sales Letters and Public Domain Riches (which Reese gives high marks to in Traffic Secrets).
But Instant Internet Profits is a must-have for just about any marketing junkie more...
Wordtracker (keyword brainstorming)
If I could be an expert at just one thing to just about guarantee internet marketing success, it would be keyword brainstorming.
While they're dozens and dozens of free keyword brainstorming tools, Wordtracker is worth every penny... for about the same investment in your local newspaper, Wordtracker lets you find popular, yet lesser-known keywords and phrases to use in your pay per click campaigns or to use to create your own "stealthy" Web pages not known by your competition more...
GoogleProfit (pay per click advertising)
While there are many useful guides to the subject such as Chris Carpenter's Google Cash, Andrew Goodman's "21 Techniques to Maximize your ROI on Google AdWords", and Perry Marshall's Teleclinic. And yes, these are all good and worth having.
But in my mind, The Search Engine Institute's online course (previously known as Google Profit) is the slam-dunk winner when it comes to showing ordinary people how to make money using Google Adwords (and other pay-per-click search engines).
Whether you're a pay per click newbie or PPC master, it's a breeze to read and the pay per click tools are amazing.
Warning: If bad customers service turns you off, don't order GoogleProfit... the publisher doesn't answer customer support emails... but that's okay because there's no need for help more...
It's Wednesday (and as I promised yesterday), I'll add point by point comments about Traffic Secret over the next few days... stay tuned.
I'd love to hear your thoughts (about my thoughts)... Click here to discuss this at my Traffic Secrets message board forum.
