Hey Melissa,
If I'm home for more than 30 minutes, I go stir crazy.
So, yeah... if I worked full-time at home, I'd be certifiably insane within the week. As it is, I do most of my work at Starbucks. There are five of 'em within a five-minute drive and all the employees know me because I'm literally there for hours each night.
(Think "Norm!" from the sitcom "Cheers.")
I'm usually there, on my laptop, writing my e-zine or my latest ebook. Several of my friends frequent the place, so there's always a friendly face to chat with (or hide from if I'm *really* busy).
Coffee joints keep me sane. It's a place to go to get away from the isolation of the house and still get a ton of work done. I wrote my 300-page ebook there, sitting at the same table day after day. And I've met some of my closest friends there (as well as several... um... dating partners) over the years.
These days, I have one Starbucks that I go to meet my friends, etc. And a few that I go to solely to get my work done.
One day, when I quit my corporate job (not in the near future, since I actually *love* my work! :-) I'll probably establish a small network (three or four people) of local netpreneurs. Here in Southern California, they're not hard to find.
Anyway, gotta run to the office.
Have a great day, all!
