Howdy Y'all!
Tim, thank you for pointing out how important it is that we should be following advice from people who have seen the success of the information they're selling. More times than once I have sent people to a sales letter and the potential prospect wouldn't buy because none of the websites associated with the testimonials appeared to be using the information on their own sites! It's a small point to make, but it is important to be able to prove that the tactics, strategy, and knowledge we sell has verifiable proof.
There's a document in the Member's Area of the Stampede Secret site that shows a 629% increase in readership due entirely to the inclusion of an RSS Feed. It sounds like hype so I don't promote it, but it is completely verifiable and includes links to Alexa data - including Alexa's time machine - and compares three websites of similar content and size. I know Alexa data is often skewed for internet marketing related sites, so it is important to note that the site documented has absolutely nothing to do with internet marketing.
Believe me my initial success with RSS had nothing to do with being a competent marketer (check the site that Tim references and you'll see for yourself - there's no marketing talent at work there
.
The success of that site is all due to using the technology effectively.
Note: The most horrid thing about that site is that it has been hosted by a local provider (small town Ontario) which is full of problems and glitches - ftping being one of them - argh - so I haven't been able to update for some time. This coming week will show some improvement as I've switched hosts.
I may get slammed for saying so, but I'm more dedicated to the power of RSS than I am to blogs. It's a matter of personal taste, and time, and effort. I've seen the RSS feeds that blogs automatically generate and I prefer more control over my content. If I were to blog three paragraphs daily my keyword ratio would diminish in an automatically generated RSS Feed. However if I write one keyword rich sentence that points to an existing page on my site (or someone else's site), my RSS Feed stays keyword rich.
There are just so many variables to using Blogs and RSS Feeds to effectively generate traffic, but the outcome is clear for both. They work!
Thanks again for this great forum and the brilliance of the people within. Collaboration is a necessity for success.
Laura Childs
P.S. For those afraid of coding or having to create some pain-in-the-butt RSS feeds there's a new software on the market which is absolutely incredible - no coding, nor validating of feeds is required. We link to it in the report without affiliate commissions and provide both a trial version and small discount coupon for our subscribers should they choose to buy.
