I'm not sure why you or anyone would find the use of this script, as it was intended, unethical. I wrote the program Tom is using, and I make a distinction. It's not even a fine-line distinction in my view, it's a "canyon" of difference.
If I'm using someone else's RSS content feed on my sites, then absolutely yes, they should have a direct link back from me. That's only fair.
With Searchfeed, etc. we're talking about paid clicks. If a visitor clicks on an ad, both Searchfeed and I make money. I checked with Searchfeed before I ever wrote this program, and they have no problem with it all. They don't care about the inbound links to their site - they want the clicks. They still get them with this script, but the links remain to my own site.
I'm sure some people have found ways to use it unethically, but then again, that can be true of any software tool. I don't endorse or support such uses. If the sponsored listings are labeled as such, as required by the FTC or whoever it is, and the supplier of the results has no problem with the way the links are done, then I don't see a problem at all.
I've seen you post on other forums re. Clickbank. This script in my view is no different than any of the various affiliate link maskers that cloak Clickbank hop-links (it can be used as one of those too, though that wasn't my main goal with it). In fact, it's really no different than Clickbank itself, which gets all those inbound links to their own site, but then sends the traffic off to the merchant's site. It's just that we're keeping all those links within our own sites before sending visitors to the merchant, rather than pointing them to Searchfeed (or Clickbank).
Anyone who wants it, I suggest you buy soon through the links Tom posted, as I'm taking it off the market shortly. I use this script myself, and I don't want to dilute it's effectiveness. I've never promoted it heavily, on purpose, for that very reason, and I don't plan to. I'm going to make a couple of upgrades to it (which I want for myself, and which current owners will receive free), and after a few more sales, that's it. And Tom can tell you I'm not a "hype" person - I'm serious when I say it won't be on the market much longer.
Thanks,
Jeff
