Hi,
Well, I'm majoring in Computer/Electronics Engineering, and my business partner used to work in Hollywood as a special effects artists on movies and tv shows.
We run several websites which are just starting to get off the ground.
ANYONE can be a successful marketer online. It takes, among other things, determination, persistence, and the willingness to learn.
If you understand that the internet isn't a magical money machine that makes just anyone a millionaire, and you realize that it CAN be a money machine for anyone that wants to WORK HARD to be successful, then you stand to be rewarded greatly.
Really, you could major in anything you like. But if you want a major that would be most beneficial to your online marketing interests, you would want to major in something like business administration... or another business major.
I actually don't know much about business majors, but I know there are all kinds of marketing classes, accounting classes, etc. Those would definitely be classes you want to take. (I always wanted to take the income tax courses, so I can find ways to keep Uncle Sam's hands off of my money. I just can't fit it in my schedule. ;-)
Different colleges offer different courses. You'd want to go to one that understands the power of the internet and offers some classes related to it.
The main point of my post is that the potential the internet holds is amazing. The fact that you don't HAVE to be a business major to succeed online, is what I consider to be the most amazing aspect of it. But, with that said, a business major would definitely not hurt... and surely WOULD help!
.. and surely WOULD help!
