To make a point. Fine by me. However, I find the obsession (not yours, but others) with the use of real names on boards to be foolish and a lack of reason.
The most incredible thing about the net is the ability to play with different sides of your self. You can slice and dice. Make em simple or complex. Yet, all the same time still expose the same truth.
I know we do not get into philosophy much here but an incredible read is: Small Pieces Loosely Joined by David Weinberger. He writes over at the JOHO blog.
Thing about boards is they FORCE you to accept the anonymous and test the claims as truth and not the person. You can see it all the time.
When someone does not test the claims threads turn to flame wars. Which often means they are either pushing the buttons of those that can't deal with the world of the net (the net IS NOT a medium, btw) or the flamer is the one that does not get how incredible anonymity is.
It is still the wild wild west here. I hope there are pockets like this forever...
But again, lol PUNK ME OUT!!!!
