First .. good call on the car insurance. If accident
not his fault, the insurance carrier for the truck
should bear ALL expenses .. and then some. Might be
time to seek legal counsel for sure. As well as,
checking personal auto insurance benefits.

Secondly ...

Guess all Non-Americans should research "Barn Raising".
It would show how Americans have traditionally given
time, effort and money to help a neighbor.

And yes, barn raisings still occur in America. Mostly
in smaller communities that hold on to tradition. I know,
I've participated. Plus, have been in on Home raisings
as well. But the tradition lives on in other ways in
todays society too.

The POINT is ... Americans have a tendency to "Stick Together",
*especially* in the bad times. Even if the other person is
a stranger. Or, even if due to negligence. Hey, we're all
human. Unfortunately, it's not the same in some other
countries.
