Re: Can CHRISTOPHER be that stupid? -- About "HUMANS"

Alice summarises it all very well, and after expressing agreement with her words, just to add this:
Christopher has made a big point about nationality and how we react and Alice is right about it being about HUMANITY. As a proud Brit, I feel bound to make a point that Christopher speaks only for Christopher and not in any way on behalf of a 'British' way of thinking. Two traits we are known for are a higher sense of cynicism (which can have some positive attributes) and separately, a high degree of compassion. Unfortunately, Christopher has been overdosed on one and lacks the other. As Alice and others have said, while we can think whatever we choose, the cynicism should have been kept as a private thought.
Extreme caution is needed when tragedy strikes and it is up to the doubter to prove substantive evidence to back their claim, not the other way round while airing suspicions publicly and casually.
On the point about strangers, we do not have to know the person to feel compassion and a sense of wanting to help. Many of us did not know those who suffered in the tsunami disaster, and yet the world responded amazingly as if we were one big family. My heart goes out to Chip Tarver and his family.
Christopher is quaintly old fashioned in his outlook on just about everything and especially related to running an online business. It is puzzling that he bothers to get involved if he despises so much about it.
If anything, the reactions of people, bar one, to the tragedy, show the positive side of the internet marketing community and if nothing else, (and looking for the positive), at least Christopher has flushed that out, at the expense of making himself look totally stupid, and rather a sad loner type.
