NEWS!
The Return of "The Free Ad Guru"!About nine months ago, I wrote an Editorial called "Free Ad
GURU?".It was about Stephen Ducharme's ebook called "How to get 1
million visitors on your website without paying a dime in
advertisement"It was NOT a "GOOD" review. In fact, my intention was to warn
people against spending their hard earned money on this over
priced collection of readily available Free advice. You can read the full article and the followup at...
http://TheAffiliateReview.com/FreeAdGuru.htmHis book was selling for $97, which I though was outrageous,
and said so in my article. The information in the book was good
information, but nothing that all of us haven't read before, as
it was all basic stuff that's been written about for years by
every Marketing expert around. I felt it would have been a
worthwhile book at 20 or 30 bucks, for those newbies who don't
yet subscribe to many ezines. But at $97, it was just a blatant
means of ripping off the unsuspecting!I received countless letters from people who read my article,
either thanking me for saving them from purchasing it, or
telling me how pissed off they were that they had.And somehow, that article made it's way all over the net, and I
have continued to receive emails like those to this day. Now, like I said, that was in April of last year, when the ads
for his book seemed to be everywhere.Shortly after I wrote that article, the fervor died down, and
we stopped being inundated with the spam that came from that
product. But lately, there's been a new resurgence of "The Free Ad Guru's"
infamous book! And to make matters worse, it seems the price is now DOUBLED!
He's now asking, and I'm sure getting, $197 for "How to get 1
million visitors on your website without paying a dime in
advertisement"Now, I have to be honest and say that I have not bought it
again, since he raised the price. I suppose it's entirely
possible that he's completely revamped the book and added
something that's worthwhile...But I Doubt it!
What I do know, is that it appears he's attempting to scam
people out of an extra Hundred Bucks through what I see as Very
Dirty Marketing Tactics! If you go through his site and decide to click on one of the
purchase links, you're taken to a payment page that says your
card will be charged $197.BUT...
If you change your mind before making your purchase, and exit
out of the purchase page, you'll get a popup that says he'll let
you have it for only $97!Now if he's willing to sell it for $97, why is he selling it to
those who don't have second thoughts for $197? I'd be right
pissed off if I found out I'd just paid almost two hundred
bucks, when he's selling it for half that!I did not go through with the transaction, which is how I found
out about the discrepancy in the pricing. So I suppose it could
be that when you fill out the payment form and agree to pay the
$197, it might take you to a page that says "Just kidding. You
really only have to pay $97 ;o)"But judging from everything else I've seen and heard about Mr.
Ducharme's marketing methods...I rather Doubt It!I've read countless posts on various forums, warning people to avoid
Mr. Ducharme like the plague. And also been warned by several of
my better known Expert Friends to stay away from his products!
Those who are promoting them are doing serious damage to their
reputations.(He's suddenly being promoted by several well known Marketers,
who must only be concerned with their "Bottom Line", either that
or they must owe him a favor. I know of one such marketer who
promoted Mr. Ducharme's ebook one week and then published
a statement that he'd received complaints about people not being
able to get their refunds, and promised to see to it that they got
them if they wrote directly to him about it! There are many such
reports of customer service problems connected to this product.
And it's my understanding that there have been Many refund requests.
You Do The Math!)So do your homework and make up your own mind BEFORE you
decide to throw away two hundred bucks of your hard earned money!"Course...That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong!"
LenHere are a couple of emails I've received just recently...
Subject: Stephen Ducharme
I was searching all over the web for information on alternate
methods to contact Mr. Ducharme. Consequently, I ran across a
link to your site and read the 'Affiliate Review' Volume 3 -
Issue 19. I wish I could have read it prior to my order.Last week I ordered his new software "My Affiliate Finder"
which was supposed to be available immediately for download
after payment confirmation.Well...I never received it. He has my money and I have no
software. I've emailed his customer service twice
(mail@moneyhome.com) only to receive an auto-respond message. As you listed in your review, he says in his reply to you
First, "I answer ALL my emails, and it is very important for me
to answer to ALL of them in 24 hours. My customer service is top
10."...that statement just got blown out of the water!
It's been almost a week since I heard from him and I'm not
asking for a refund! I just want my flippin software!Just thought your readers might want another "heads up".
If you know of another way to contact him, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Jerry
Hi Len
Just came across your review of Stephen Ducharme after I
received a solo ad from him and checked his site out. I was
tempted to buy, but a bit dubious (the pictures are a bit over
the top as are his claims, as much as I wanted it to be true).
So I did a search engine search on his name and came across
your article. Thank you very much. I did not have the resources
to waste and I came close to it. Did you know that he is
charging $197 now! You thought it was overpriced before...His sales letter triggers are very emotional and I've seen it
before. Hey, I've fallen for it before. We do learn to do some
checking eventually!! There's something to be said for a lack of
hype. Give me the true internet gurus any day. Thanks
Rebecca
