Yanik is right.
I believe psychology is probably the best way to go. Effective advertising, copywriting, and customer service requires understanding people to a great degree.
Also, effective direct marketing deals with a lot of psychology and passive persuasion tactics. It's simply amazing what using the right words can do for your bottom line in this business! After all, any good marketer knows that your copywriting is the most important element in direct marketing, both online and off.
Business management would also definately be a plus. There is a lot of legal responsibilities that come with running a business.
Having it to do over, I would definately go for psychology. I never realized it until I started in direct marketing. I now find myself completely fascinated with the human subconscious mind.
Understanding subconscious behaviour can undoubtedly make you a millionaire in direct sales!
Listen to Silver, he knows his stuff!
Best of luck,
