My blog post wasn't targetted to newbies.
Whilst BAP can be used by a newbie, they won't get the most out of the application. That is actually the same with almost every application.
Honestly most of the page generating software currently on sale is "dumbed down". None of it really does anything state-of-the-art.
I have tools I have spent $200 on that I haven't even mentioned on my blog, not because I want to make a secret of it, but simply because they don't deliver on their promise yet.Yes I could write an ebook on exactly how to do everything, but I am not going to, because I need proof of concept.
Contained in that one blog post there are ideas expressed that you won't find on public forums, and based upon the traffic I received from invite only private forums, there may be some stuff in there that I am the first to air in public.
I am sure someone will come up with an ultimate plugin, but it is hard to do it whilst avoiding using code that is covered by a GPL license, thus whilst you could charge for it, others could then give it away.
Automatic linking, tagging and categories might give blogging purests a heart attack.
Current plugins can do each of these partially.
I know of 4 autolink plugins, and there are 3 plugins that produce decent tags, tag lists (replacement for categories) and tag clouds.
There isn't one that will do both.Don't think of a blog as a blog.
Think of how Wikipedia does lots of cross referencing.
Understand that pages gain PR and relevance from internal linking just as much as external, especially if it is relevant.
BAP can't quite do the categories / tag clouds bit yet, but it would only require a minor change, and the use of one current plugin (that I have had a couple of problems getting working on a test blog - I am not a techie)
However if someone isn't already blogging extensively, and aware of the benefits of certain wordpress plugins, and the many shortcomings, I am not going to try convincing them to buy a product.
Blog Auto Publisher isn't expensive for people making money already, and compares well to the price of RSStoBlog with the special offer Olga has kindly extended here. It only has to save you 10 hours or less depending on how you value your time.
It isn't perfect yet, but it does have a huge amount of potential.
It is quite possible it will never have an interface as "slick" looking as Elicit. It is quite possible I will end up using Elicit for some of my blogs too. I have multiple tools which do similar tasks slightly differently.
