I agree with Andy.
Search engines can be very hit or miss due to the fact that they are always evolving or changing.
The best thing for you to do right now is build your email list. This traffic(traffic from your list), in my opinion, is much better than search engine traffic due to the fact that you can build a good relationship with the subscribers and develop yourself as an expert in your field/niche.
Therefore, make every effort to build that list.
Now how do you do it?
Well here are some ways you can do it.
0. First, get an autoresponder and create a landing page to collect subscribers.
Traffic Methods:
1. Writing and promoting articles
2. Writing press releases
3. Starting an affiliate program
4. Establish joint ventures
5. Viral Marketing(tell a friend, viral ebook, etc...)
6. Pay Per Click Advertising(adwords, overture, MIVA, 7search etc...)Just try to master all of these different methods of generating traffic and you should do very fine.
