Markus Allen's strange goodbye to the marketing world

I was a longtime subscriber to Markus Allen's "Marketing Tip of the Day" newsletter, and I'm baffled by this "Goodbye, cruel world" suicide note of sorts:

http://www.marketing-ideas.org/tips.php

Seems to me like there's a missing piece to his story. I don't get it. He contradicts himself and it doesn't seem like he's thinking clearly. Anyone know the scoop?

I was a big fan of his daily tips (I wish all the marketing guys could keep their emails as short and useful as his were), but I saw another side of him during that whole flap with John Reese. He came off irrational and misguided, digging himself deeper and deeper holes. His arguments were such non sequiters that I actually felt sorry for him, like he was a street person on the corner shaking his brown bag at the sky.

But I have to hand it to him --- he let John Reese have his full say and he didn't seem to delete any posts from anyone who disagreed with his case.

Very strange, the whole saga of Markus Allen. I sincerely hope he can make some wine out of his self-professed sour grapes.

Interesting...But is his letter in itself hype creation?
