Wait a minute. I don't think you've fully followed Lyne's logic here.
I think I've come across precisely this problem before for myself.
Isn't the issue that ClickBank keep changing how cookies actually work. Sometimes they remember the first person who referred the buyer to a site, and other times they've had it set so it remembers the last person who referred the affiliate to a site.
Now there certainly are circumstances where you would want to know and I think Lyne just described one of them.
I'm a member of several affiliate programs including Michael Green's and it is correct that Michael encourages his affiliates to try out the products that they are promoting. In fact he suggests that people write honest and criticial reviews. He does say that it is acceptable by him for us to buy the products via your own affiliate link. So this would seem like one circumstance when knowing who was about to get credited might be legitimate.
Still, I can see how the information that Lyne's posted here could be miss-used by someone.
