There are plenty of solutions, but I am maybe 5 years out of date.
Protection only prevents casual copying.
Even the more advanced systems that download a part of the code or even the whole application each time they are used get hacked.
You also have to think about your end user, and how they might use the product.
1. Convenience
2. The legality of copy protection
3. The effect it will have on sales for large installationsThe 3rd part might have a huge effect on your bottom line. My old company almost lost a legitimate order for 300 licenses due to the copy protection on their software product (it was developed in-house)
10 minutes x 300 for installation really adds to the cost of an installation contract, especially when the software only costs $50 per seat before discounts.
