Jay,

Remember to DO something with your list once you build it (and while you are building it). Connecting with you list in a personal way (helping them) and offering value to them will help them to become loyal readers and be more responsive.

A list of a million subscribers that do not purchase anything is worth a lot less than a list of a few that rip open your newsletter as soon as it hits their inbox!
