Interesting post to a nearly 2 year old thread Simon. I can't
imagine why you might be trying to defame our credability.

Simon, it would be really great if you could dispell my
doubts about why you are advertising Getresponse.com having
a 99.48% deliverability and 8 years in service? I've seen
this ad on Google as recently as last week.

Adwords ad text:
Unlimited Autoresponders
99.48% email delivery rate, 8 years
online. Top features. Try it free!
www.GetResponse.com

Adwords ad from Getresponse:
http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=111479014&size=o

Numerous Google cached sites with the ad on it:
http://www.google.com/search?&q=autoresponder%2099.48

On March 12, 2006 how exactly are you getting 8 years in
online? I'm either really bad at math or it's not 8 years
until Oct 4th of 2006.
whois getresponse.com -> Record created on 04-Oct-1998.

I also have an email here in my mailbox directly from you
requesting us to drop our deliverability numbers and agreeing
you'll drop yours.

How about some truth in advertising?

There are a number of ways to determine overall email deliverability.
The only way to determine inbox email delivery is to use a seed list
of email addresses at each major ISP and then physically sending to
that list and logging into each ISP email account to see where the
message showed up.

At AWeber we also run a service called http://www.DeliveryMonitor.com
that does exactly this. We've been running this service since
the fall of 2003 and measure not only delivery for AWeber customers
but also for people sending to opt-in lists thru other email providers.

Our 99.34% deliverability is a measured statistic averaged over
several months taking into account all hard and soft bounces.

We also use the DeliveryMonitor.com service to physically test our inbox
deliverability of all of our IP's with a 100% inbox rating to all ISPs
tested.

As with any data, especially data used in marketing I would encourage
you to test our claims for yourself. You can use any number of
different services to test this:

http://www.DeliveryMonitor.com
http://www.returnpath.biz/delivery
http://www.pivotalveracity.com
http://www.emailmonitor.co.uk

We have many thousands of happy customers. I can assure you that
if we were lying someone other than a competitor would have called
us out on those numbers.

At AWeber we run public services which not only allow opt-in
subscriber email to be properly delivered but we've also made our
measurement tools publicly available to audit your overall email
deliverability.

http://www.aweber.com
http://www.deliverymonitor.com

Both owned and operated by us.

I think it's extremely interesting some of the generic sites that
have popped up in recent weeks trying to hurt our credibility when
it comes to email deliverability.

Lets follow the trail....

autoresponders.com

- Anonymous blog, anonymous whois registration. Who's behind this
site and why are they hidding?

- Praises Getresponse, attempts to spread bogus information hurting
AWeber's deliverability record.

- Links exclusively to

- Getresponse.com
via the top SEO keyword "autoresponder" with no affiliate link.

Blog by "Joe Minori" who has no history on Google other than the blog.

Big ad for Getresponse services with another bogus person's name
on it "Tom Ryan". Domain hosted by Getresponse at devel.implix.com
http://www.flickr.com/photos/screenshots-warrior/111537276/

- The site was only recently turned into a blog. Previously it was
an autoresponder comparison website. At that time it still linked
to getresponse.com with the keyword "autoresponders" and no affiliate
link. Also quoted 99.48% deliverability for Getresponse and

http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=111520301&size=o

- Whois history shows that prior to it being switched to an anonymous
registration it was registered to Imperial Technologies Limited.
You'll see in the upcoming data that Imperial has some awfully
strong ties to Implix / Getresponse.

- If we visit this domain from any AWeber IP addresses it shows
content that indicates the blog had been discontinued. Getresponse.com
also does not appear from any AWeber IP address since they blocked
us from looking at their website. Strangely, if you visit the
blog site from any other IP it shows up just fine. Why might
that occur?

autoresponders-marketing.com from an AWeber IP:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/screenshots-warrior/111591648/

autoresponders-marketing.com from any other IP:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/screenshots-warrior/111594336/

Draw your own conclusions on who's running these sites and who is
putting the content on them and for what purposes.

Why is Simon hosting a domain on a private development server that's
an ad for Getresponse which tries to appear to be an independent
review and only linked to from domains which also have connections
back to him? Why would he be hosting anonymous blogs that attempt to
spread misinformation about AWeber? Why would those domains all be
linking to Getresponse with top search engine keywords without an
affiliate link? Why would those domains only be linked to one
another and no other sources?

There's an awful lot of mis-information and shady things going
on behind the scenes in this competitive space that no one knows
about. Don't believe everything you read unless you've done
the research and fully identified who is posting and for what
purposes and motives.

I believe in running an honest ethical business that truly
helps our customers. I believe our deliverability numbers to
be a true representation of our overall deliverability. This
has been posted with the methodology behind how these numbers
are arrived at and how they can be independently confirmed.

Believe what you want of what's posted on a forum or blog, but
I can assure you that those posting that information have
motives other than the truth in mind.

Sincerely,
Tom Kulzer
