Everything needs a bonus nowadays, right?
Here's yer bonus system to build good solid links and traffic to your niche blog... errr... emmmm.... site without begging any one for a link.
1) Get a copy of FAQGenie (it's free).
Get it here http://www.virdi-software.com/faqgen/2) Get a copy of orwell (it's free).
Get it here http://www.orwellpro.com/blog/3) Ask your self (or search forums and find) questions related to your niche.
4) Use Orwell to find articles that answer the questions you asked (found). Compile those questions and answers into a plain vanilla FAQ, using FAQGenie.
5) Host the FAQ on a free hosting service (geocities, myspace, squidoo... many others) and link it to the niche blog... errr... emmmm... site.
6) submit the FAQ to various topical directories (find them at http://google.com - http://search.msn.com - http://yahoo.com - http://dmoz.org). Focus on the ones that don't require either a payment or a link back, but don't be afraid to put a link page on the FAQ site IF AND ONLY IF the link you get is worth the time involved.
7) Rinse and repeat.
