If I may, Claire, Sam isn't that at all.
I'm not defending Sam at all here, he is imensely capable of that himself when he wants to. But one thing I want to interject to you is that if you read Sam carefully, you can always learn something. Even if you don't particularly see eye to eye with a given point he is taking, you can definately take something away from his posts if you let yourself.
Sam has been around here for a lot of years and a couple things are always true. First, Sam does not intentionaly screw people. Second Sam has a way of seeing things from perspectives and around corners that will surprise you. Third, Sam will bend over backward to help someone in a personal one to one setting. Fourth, Sam is often actually VERY subtle. I realize that last one sound strange, but it is true. Behind the audacious controversy there is always a subtle layer of information that you can find if you take your time and read him carefully.
I'm not telling you to like him, just that you can learn a lot from him, and you'll be surprised by how "human" his methods really are underneath.
