Whether the tool works or not isn't really the issue.

The key point is that "blog & ping" was another short-term fad that worked for a while. Today it's regarded as a form of search engine spam and thus not recommended.

Instead of spamming hundreds or thousands of blogs (which will only get you in trouble)... it's better to spend your time searching for a few quality blogs in your niche. Develop a relationship with them by posting a few genuine, helpful responses over time. Your reputation will grow. And your traffic will be much more targetted too.

Just don't overdo it.
