Hello Tanya, and friends.
This issue can be debated all over the place on validity of releases and the requirement of 2 training sales.
The two training sales is a party line, but it is not an enforcable policy. To my knowledge, Coastal's practice of "spot checking" random releases has never been done. Only Coastal can answer that question.
It is the official Coastal suggested marketing plan for people to pass along 2 training sales and that is the BOD (Board of Directors) policy and their view of success.
Does Coastal Board of Directors hold the only viable blueprint for the way of success? That is up to you all to decide.
Has anyone been kicked out of Coastal for violating a 2 up? Not that I know of. Has anyone EVER been kicked out of Coastal? Not that I have heard.
One thing I love about Coastal is the fact that as members and directors we have freedom.
Freedom to do it how ever we like.
Freedom to build systems.
Freedom to have training and team support group.
Freedom to have personal assistants work for you at closing centers.
Freedom to never join any team or group and market and close sales all by yourself because that is the way you love to do it.
Freedom to require one pass up
Freedom to require two pass ups
Freedom to require no pass ups
But the other side of the freedom coin is..... too much liberal freedom can be abused where it only takes some really unethical people to ruin the plan in a big way and have something big happen to them, with media coverege and all of us take the hit, because people will think "Coastal is getting shut down" because some idiot wrote this or that or said this or that and broke the law. Really scammed someone bad or caused our vendors a big problem, and they ditch us.
So everyone, do the business like a business.
Run your business like a professional with character, integrity, and offer people everything you can to help your teams become successful.
For those of you not getting assistance from your directors, HOUND THEM like my 3 old little girl who won't stop at NO when she asks for a cookie or ice cream and I say no, and on the 10th time, guess what I do? She usually gets what she wants because of persistence.
All of us will get what we want, because of persistence.
There is no answer to the question about waiving releases, people send them in all the time with "sale 1" and "sale 2" written in the spots where names and phone #'s go and guess what?
They got their packages like everyone else did.
If you "catch and release" the danger is no training and fast buck syndrome by upline who takes your money and never helps you.
If you practice the traditional coastal 2 up policy, then in my experience, you will do more and do better, as the two sales leverage will make you more money the longer you stay with it. I have almost 500 people in my group, many gave me two sales, many more I require they pass the sales they owe me, when they are ready and when the time is right.
I used to practice "catch and release" when I first started, and I released people for like 5 months, I made about $40K in those 5 months.
But I felt If I could offer great training and incredible tools, that when used appropriately, would help me get those two sales, I should use the 2 up plan, so I went back to it and sure enough, I made WAY more money requiring two sales, so I now practice Coastal policy.
I do feel the 2 up is a great leveraging tool. It works, when people work.
But with so many call centers, so many many groups and so many teams and so many trainings and so many different comp plan variations, it can confuse the market place.
It does confuse the market place too.
That is why MLM companies have compliance departments and why some groups and team have ethical standards and policies that can self govern what they feel is appropriate and inappropriate in the Coastal landscape.
There are other directors out there who I call the "unofficial Coastal Police" and feel anytime they see something done in a way they WOULD NOT DO IT, they call you and complain, threaten and lie out of fear or something internal, which makes them feel better and like they can control the whole coastal industry.
But in reality.... the only person who controls the coastal industry is you. You are the key, it is up to you. Do the right things always.
There is a place here in this business for anyone, who choses the method which is most attractive to them and who feels they will have success in working that method. I stress the word "WORKING" as most people simply don't work, but 3 hours a week, and call reading emails "work".
Treat your business like a business and you will do what business professionals do, MAKE MONEY.
Treat your business like a part-time business and you wil do what part-time business owners do, have a hobby.
Either one is fine, if that is what you are content to settle for.
All of us, Jay, Tanya, others, all want leaders on our teams, want to see people run and sail and soar. Well, we all do want to have wealth and prosperity, it is not "Coastal" that is the answer either. THE ANSWER IT YOU. YOU are the key, no matter what you do, do it with all your heart and love and you will succeed with it.
How ever one choses to do it, with whatever system and whatever team, JUST DO IT.
So, there is my "buck nineteen"
